"Beautiful Things"
I like animals
Big and small
From the little mouse
To the giraffe tall

Bats fly at night
Eating moths and flies
Buzz! buzz! go the bees
Flutter! flutter! go the butterflies

Beautiful birds in the air
Here, there and everywhere
Mr. Heron stands very tall
I just hope he doesn’t fall!

"Trees"
Trees are here,
Trees are there,
Trees are brown,
But never upside down!

Trees have a bark,
Trees have branches,
Trees have leaves,
That blow in the breeze.

Trees grow tall,
Trees can fall,
Trees have nests,
Where birds can rest.

"Drim N.S."
Drim National School is the best,
I don't know about the rest.
English workbook is the best
It’s easier than all the rest.

Irish workbook is the worst.
It's harder than it was in First.
We have a library now
And a computer and a printer - WOW!

We speak Irish more often these days,
Daddy didn’t speak Irish that often, he says,
Drim N.S. was 60 years old last year.
We celebrated and we all cheered!

"Mitty Mit"
I and Mitty Mit my cat,
‘Tis a funny task we are at.
He jumps up and down all night,
I sleep in my bed so quiet.

He loves noise, I like quiet,
He loves squeezing in so tight.
He likes out, I like in,
He loves eating from a tin.

"Animals"
Animals all around the world,
Some have straight hair some have curled,
Kangaroos to horse and mares,
From elephants to polar bears.

From lions to dogs,
Monkeys to hogs,
From little to large,
And those who eat marge.

Animals in Africa,
Animals in America,
Animals in Rome,
And animals always at home.

Snakes and snails,
Some have shells, some have tails,
Tigers and lions,
Some wait for dinner, others find dinner!

"Drim N.S."
Drim school is the best,
Really the best in the west.
I like school.
My teacher's name is Miss Kerrigan.
Nasty, she is not.
She is so nice.

"Drim N.S."
Drim N.S. is the best.
Running and playing
With all my friends.
Irish is the best,
My teacher, Miss Kerrigan
Is nicer than all the rest
National School is better
Than Secondary School.
Second Class is hard
But still I like my school!
